Satellite images of the heavy snow last week. It’s been cold, but looking back over the millenia it’s not so bad. Records and paintings show the Thames can sometimes freeze over, so much so that in 1515 the ice on the river was strong enough to bear carriages between Lambeth and Westminster. Having said all that, it’s still cold.
